The International Council of Nurses Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse Network

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse Network (NP/APNN) was established to provide an international resource for nurses practicing in the Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) roles as well as interested others such as policymakers, educators, regulators and/or health planners. These roles (NP/APN) apply to individual nurses who have been prepared beyond the basic education of a generalist nurse and who have the relevant experience and additional education and/or training that allows them to practice in an advanced role. The titles and credentials for these individuals vary around the globe but additional advanced education and/or training remains consistent.
